Tenor Philip Webb

The son of a Midwestern minister, tenor Philip Webb sang regularly in churches as a child and spent 12 years as a worship leader and gospel recording artist before launching a career in operatic and classical music in 1996. Since then he has performed at Carnegie Hall, New York City Opera, Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Vienna State Opera, San Francisco Opera and other leading opera houses all across the United States and in Europe where his distinctive and dramatic voice has earned him both critical and popular acclaim.

Whenever possible, however, he still returns to his first love, singing inspirational music in concert and at churches. And now with "How Great Thou Art", the long awaited follow-up to his previous release "He Is King", he offers up a selection of sacred hymns recorded with a voice that is more powerful and passionate than ever. Philip Webb, has re-released the CD, "He is King," a collection of popular hymns and gospel songs recorded earlier in his career. Made available in response to requests for additional sacred music selections by him following his more recent release of, "How Great Thou Art". It contains stirring renditions of such timeless classics as "I want to know Christ", "Christians Arise" and "Holy, Holy, Holy". Delivered with power and conviction by one of opera’s leading lyric tenors, these songs will inspire and uplift fans of both classical and sacred music.
